I am pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2018 SSIEM Academy. The application process is online and is available on the SSIEM website until 23rd November 2017.
The topics of the 2018 Academy will be lysosomal storage disorders, peroximal disorders and purine and pyrimidine disorders.
As in previous years the SSIEM Academy course, for clinicians and laboratory scientists working in inborn errors of metabolism, will be held over 2 days. Teaching will be as interactive as possible and in addition to lectures will involve workshops and case discussions.
The provisional programme and details of the venue can be found on the SSIEM Academy webpage.
Attendees of previous Academies are very welcome to apply for this year's course and we would like to have representatives from as many countries as possible. However as places are limited to 40 for each course (clinical and laboratory science), if the Academy is oversubscribed there may be a selection process and decisions will be made within 4 weeks of the closing date.
Accepted delegates will be asked to submit an abstract for a case presentation on a topic related to the Academy. Accepted abstracts will be published in the Academy programme. Accepted delegates will also be asked to pay the 75 Euro Academy registration fee. Academy registration includes:
- Accommodation (including breakfast) for the nights of 22nd and 23rd April 2018
- Lunches on the 23nd and 24th April 2018
There will also be an evening meal for all Academy attendees on the 23rd April 2018 for which there will be a nominal fee of 12 Euro.
Participants will pay their own travel costs.
